Pigment Usage

To date, the use of pigments has become widespread among domestic paint manufacturers. A small paint factory conservatively estimates its annual pigment usage at around 2,000-5,000 yuan (in monetary terms), a medium-sized paint factory at 50,000-100,000 yuan, and a large paint factory at 500,000-1,000,000 yuan. The amount of pigment used varies greatly among different paint factories. There are approximately 12,000 paint factories of all sizes in my country, mainly concentrated in the Yangtze River Delta region. Assuming an average pigment usage of 20,000 yuan per factory per year, the total pigment consumption is approximately 240 million yuan. In 2006, my country's total paint production exceeded 5 million tons, reaching 5.0784 million tons. Assuming 30% is colored paint, the pigment usage per ton of paint is approximately 157.53 yuan, and this is a very conservative estimate. Currently, there are fewer than thirty pigment factories in China, and including imported brands, there are at most thirty-odd. Due to limitations in equipment, technology, and capital, there are few truly large-scale color paste manufacturers in China. However, the domestic market demand for color pastes far exceeds the output of these manufacturers (besides architectural coating color pastes, there are also color pastes for rubber products, PVC products, and other civilian and industrial applications, with demand for color pastes much greater than for coatings). Product quality varies greatly, and further improvement is needed.

Application and Development of Water-Based Color Pastes
With the rapid development of construction and industry, areas rarely designed into color pastes, such as hotels, commercial spaces, landscaping, and transportation, have significantly expanded into the color paste market, moving towards integrated and energy-saving development. This is mainly reflected in the rapid rise of color paste manufacturers, driving the entire color paste industry towards high efficiency and low carbon emissions. As an important branch of the coatings industry, water-based color pastes, driven by industrial, real estate, furniture, home appliance, and building materials sectors, have rapidly become a mainstream consumer product, playing an increasingly important role in modern home decoration and furnishing.

Water-based color pastes are used for coloring and have a wide range of applications, including coatings, leather, printing, papermaking, latex, and textiles, with the coatings industry being the primary customer.
